Find out whether the loop or the hook is failing
Hang the clean dry towel and gently lift it on and off the hook. A stretched fabric loop may slip from a shallow hook even when the wall mount is secure. If the hook itself tilts or pulls away from the wall, stop loading it and follow its installation instructions. Keep detached adhesive pieces and small hardware away from pets.
A wet towel needs space to dry
Folding a damp paw towel into a tight bundle on a tiny hook can keep inner layers wet and encourage odor. Spread it over a suitable bar or use a hanging point that lets air reach more of the fabric. Do not place a wet towel against an electrical outlet or heater. Wash it according to the fabric label and let it dry fully before storing it in a closed bin.
Choose a hanging point your dog cannot turn into a toy
A low dangling towel can invite tugging, especially after an exciting walk. Move the hanging point outside your dog's reach while keeping it convenient for you. Wall hardware should match the surface and expected wet-towel weight. An adhesive hook that repeatedly falls is not made safer by adding more layers of random tape.
Replace towels with damaged loops or frayed edges
A torn hanging loop can continue to unravel in the wash. Trim only loose thread that can be safely removed without opening a seam, or retire the towel if the fabric is breaking apart. If your dog chews or swallows towel fibers, remove access and contact a veterinarian if ingestion is suspected or symptoms develop.
