Take a falling camera out of reach immediately
If the camera has already tipped, unplug it and inspect the housing, plug, and cord before using it again. A device on the edge of a shelf can hit your dog or become a chew target. Do not balance it with books, loose tape, or a heavy object that could fall with it. Choose a stable temporary location while you solve the mounting problem.
Find out what is moving it
Watch whether vibration from a door, a wagging tail against furniture, or tension from the power cord slowly rotates the camera. Make sure the base sits fully on the surface and that the cord has enough slack without hanging as a loop your dog can grab. If the manufacturer offers a compatible wall mount, follow its hardware and load instructions.
Keep the useful view without creating a new hazard
Aim for the floor area where your dog rests and moves rather than placing the camera high on an unstable stack. A mount should not block doors or create a protruding edge at head height. Route cords away from water bowls and chewing access. Do not run a power cord under a rug if the device instructions prohibit it or if it creates a trip or heat hazard.
Recheck after the first few days
A mount that feels firm at installation can loosen with repeated vibration. Check screws, adhesive systems, and camera angle according to the maker's directions. If the case cracked in a previous fall or the plug and cord are damaged, replace or service the device rather than continuing to power it. A camera is a convenience, not a substitute for a safe room.
